Columnea arguta - lipstick plant

The Lipstick Plant (Columnea arguta) is an easy-to-care-for plant that is a great choice for the plant enthusiast. It thrives in bright light and does not require much water. Both the soil and the air need to be kept moderately humid to keep it looking its best. Pruning is not necessary but can promote branching and result in a fuller plant.

Watering- During the warm season, it is recommended to water the plant regularly, so that the substrate can remain relatively damp. During the cold season, the frequency of watering will be reduced.

Feeding- Aeschynanthus reacts favorably to the application of fertilizers. Products specially formulated for flowering plants can be applied during the growing season.

Lighting- It prefers spaces with abundant but filtered light. The direct rays of the sun can cause sunburn, while insufficient light will lead to weak flowering and falling leaves.
